This role works directly from schedules established by the Operations Manager and ensures that irrigation technicians operate efficiently, safely, and profitably.</p><p>This position requires handson leadership, strong technical irrigation knowledge, and the ability to coach and develop field staff. The Irrigation Production Manager plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and meeting productivity goals.</p><p>This role reports to the <strong>Operations Manager</strong>.</p><h2><br></h2><h2><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h2><h3><strong>Irrigation Production Management</strong></h3><ul><li>Execute daily irrigation schedules as assigned by the Operations Manager.</li><li>Ensure irrigation repairs and services are completed on time and within labor and material budgets.</li><li>Monitor daily labor hours and productivity for irrigation technicians.</li><li>Perform regular site inspections to verify quality, system functionality, and workmanship standards.</li><li>Maintain strict quality standards, including controlling plant replacement costs to target thresholds.</li><li>Track and complete technician time entries and production reporting using HH2.</li><li>Coordinate material procurement and staging to prevent job delays or downtime.</li><li>Troubleshoot complex irrigation system issues in the field, including valves, controllers, mainlines, laterals, drip systems, and smart water technologies.</li></ul><h3><strong>Technician Leadership &amp; Development</strong></h3><ul><li>Manage, train, coach, and mentor irrigation technicians.</li><li>Conduct handson field training and performance evaluations.</li><li>Hold daily morning huddles at 6:00 AM to review routes, safety focus, and jobspecific challenges.</li><li>Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and support required to succeed each day.</li></ul><h3><strong>Safety &amp; Compliance</strong></h3><ul><li>Enforce all company safety policies and PPE requirements.</li><li>Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings.</li><li>Respond to incidents immediately and complete required incident reporting within 24 hours.</li><li>Promote a safetyfirst culture across the irrigation team.</li></ul><h3><strong>Other Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Participate in weekly operations meetings as required.</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance division.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by operations leadership.</li></ul><h2><strong>Experience / Job Requirements</strong></h2><ul><li>Valid driver's license with a favorable DMV record.</li><li>Minimum <strong>5 years of experience</strong> in irrigation or the green industry.</li><li>Minimum <strong>2 years in a supervisory or leadership role</strong>.</li><li>Expert knowledge of irrigation components and systems.</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and problemsolving skills.</li><li>Comfortable working with field and office software systems.</li><li>Certifications such as <strong>CIT, CIC, or CLIA highly preferred</strong>.</li><li>Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong desire to be part of a supportive, closeknit team.</li></ul><h2><strong>Example Key Performance Indicators</strong></h2><ul><li><strong>Schedule Adherence:</strong> 100% of irrigation work completed as scheduled</li><li><strong>Quality Control:</strong> 98% or higher pass rate on internal inspections</li><li><strong>Budget Control:</strong> Labor and material costs maintained within budget</li><li><strong>Technician Productivity:</strong> 85% or higher labor efficiency</li><li><strong>Safety Compliance:</strong> Zero preventable safety incidents</li></ul><h2><strong>Company Benefits</strong></h2><ul><li>401(k) plan enrollment with <strong>4% annual company match</strong></li><li>Health insurance for employees and family</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Life and disability insurance</li><li>Paid vacation and sick time</li><li>Paid holidays throughout the year</li></ul>

Irrigation Production Manager

Have you personally diagnosed and repaired commercial irrigation systems (valves, controllers, wiring, mainlines) in the field within the last 2 years?

Have you directly managed irrigation technicians (including daily scheduling, coaching, and accountability) in a previous role?

Are you willing and able to be in the field daily and lead technicians in person, including morning huddles at or before 6:00 AM?

Have you been responsible for inspecting irrigation work and ensuring issues are corrected before becoming callbacks or customer complaints?

Have you been responsible for tracking technician labor hours and adjusting execution to maintain or improve productivity?
